What is Flip the Pharmacy?
Flip the Pharmacy (FTP) is a pharmacy practice transformation initiative that was created in efforts to change the perspective of pharmacy from “point in time” prescription level care processes to a more long-term healthcare model. FTP focuses on creating a workflow that allows pharmacies to deliver enhanced clinical services while also playing a huge part in the effort for pharmacies to get paid for clinical efforts rather than rely on prescription reimbursement.
How is Topeka Pharmacy playing a part in this effort?
Topeka Pharmacy is a member of the Indiana CPESN, an organization structured to advance community-based pharmacy practice. CPESN is the founding partner of Flip the Pharmacy and their members, including Topeka Pharmacy, strive to improve patient care by working collaboratively with a patient’s entire healthcare team. CPESN pharmacies provide a variety of services that transcend that of a prescription based community pharmacy model. These services include but are not limited to comprehensive medication reviews, medication synchronization programs, medication reconciliations, personal medication records, and point of care testing.
